Only Changed Hearts Can

Cause Changed Behavior

        There is only one sure way to stop crime.  That is to create changed hearts in those responsible for committing  crime! 

                We are Chaplains for Christ Prison Ministries.  Our volunteers are working in prisons sharing the Word of God, the Bible,  praying and distributing literature and Bibles to those behind bars.  While these inmates are in prison, you can be sure of one thing:  Either they will be learning how to become better criminals and masters of crime as they communicate with other criminals, or they will hear and learn from those we have been able to reach that the Bible and our Almighty Creator can and will make a positive difference in their personal lives.  This is God's promise when He states in Scripture:  "My Word will not return unto Me void."

                We have seen many men and women respond to the life-changing Word of God.  They are hungry for more and more Christian literature so that they can know more of the love of God that caused Him to lay down His life to recover them.  As the truth of the Redeemer's love continues to wash over them, hearts are changed and many commit to walk His way.  When that happens, hearts that were cold and dead, looking for revenge against any and all potential victims, are now wanting to please and bless the heart of God.  When anyone's first desire is to please and bless the Lord's heart, you can be sure that they will be a blessing to you as well.

                This is how we can truly "take a bite" from crime and seriously reduce it.

                Please pray for us as we continue to reach behind bars for the "pulling from the fire" those that society has considered "lost causes."  New hearts will keep them from making victims of others...some of which may have proven to be our very own relatives and friends.  Only God can really make a difference behind bars.  The incarceration won't "fix" them; the psychiatrists won't "fix" them, (telling them they have problems!); and medication won't "fix" them.  Prisoners, young and old, male and female, can only be "fixed" and changed by a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, the One who created them.  We wouldn't ask a watch repairman to fix our car, or a landscaper to do brain surgery!  How can anyone but the Creator of life know how to fix each individual life that is not functioning well?  A heart-changing relationship with God is what they need, just like the Lord established in the beginning in the Garden of Eden.  Scripture declares that "Adam and Eve walked and talked daily with God" in the garden.  That is clearly a relationship, not religion or segregated denominational practice.  There were no denominations in the garden, just a Father and His children, Creator and His beloved creation.  When we come to God His way......hearts and lives truly change.
